Donna Drimer, Co-founder

Donna is the founder and principal owner of MATTED LIC, a Long Island City-based gallery featuring paintings, sculpture, collectibles and investment-quality works on paper from the 18th through 21st century. Specialists in museum-quality, conservation framing and featuring local artists, MATTED LIC was named a “Best Gallery” by TIME OUT magazine in 2017.

 Donna, also a “certified professional picture framer” by the National Professional Picture Framers Association (NPPFA), had been the long time co-owner of FrameArt gallery in Jamaica Estates, NY. Previously, she managed the famed Field Gallery in NYC’s East Village during the zenith of that arts community’s historic influence on the American cultural aesthetic.

 Always a leader in her local business community, Donna has at various times been president of the LI-chapter of the PPFA and the Union Turnpike Merchant’s Association and has been recognized by then NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg as one of the founders of Long Island City Women in Business, to this day considered a model organization for women’s empowerment in local business and commerce. She was one of the premiere members of LIC Arts Open, the local artistic community’s annual open studios event.

Her nearly  unparalleled expertise in valuating art, collectibles and antiques is a key skill set Metafair brings to bear for the benefit of its clientele. Donna received a BA from SUNY Buffalo.

 

 

David Drimer, Co-founder

David looks back on a decades long, award-winning career in traditional and digital marketing and public relations. A specialist in both start-ups and “turnarounds” for companies facing fiscal and marketing challenges, he has served as chief operating officer for a series of for-profit and not-for-profit enterprises large and small. 

He was recognized with three Webby awards in a row (‘The OscarsTM of the Internet” – NY Times), among numerous other industry awards in national and international juried competitions. David also supervised agency teams honored with three Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver AnvilTM awards for new product introduction in one two year span. While working as the sole Knowledge Management Consultant for the world’s leading information company, he was officially named a “LexisNexis Superstar” for conceiving the first-to-market online anti-money laundering investigation toolset in response to post-911 legislation.  

David studied digital design and production at NYU’s Center for Advanced Digital Applications (CADA). He received a BA and an MBA from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.
